People Magazine truly are in a love affair with the beautiful Julia Roberts.
People magazine have voted Julia Roberts as the most beautiful woman for the 5th time. Yet again, she graces their cover with her stunning beauty 26 years later. She told the magazine that she was very flattered.
She was merely a tender 23 when she first appeared on the cover of People magazine. This was when her life as a Hollywood favorite was really taking off. She had recently wowed audiences with her powerful performances in “Steel Magnolias” and “Pretty Woman”.
“Adorable and Naive”
When asked how she viewed herself 26 years ago, she said she felt that she was adorable, naive, and happy and surprised to be invited to the party. She then went on to explain that within the next 26 years she hopes to see herself growing gracefully old.
Currently, she is concentrating on raising her children and devoting herself to her loving husband of 15 years. She truly lives a dream life which most of us can only imagine.
Though one must ask how naive really was Roberts? For most of the 1990s, she achieved the status of being the most highly paid actress in the world. After all, the film industry is in her blood.
Theatrical Family Roots
Both of Robert’s parents came from theatrical backgrounds. In fact, they ran children theater workshops whilst she was still in her mother’s womb. From the minute she was born, acting was in her blood.
Her siblings, Eric Roberts and Lisa Roberts Gillan are also actors. Also, her young niece Emma Roberts is now an up and coming starlet just like her aunt. She gained a taste for the film industry when she would spend time on set with her aunt.
Initially, Roberts didn’t intend to catch the acting bug from her parents. She dreamed of being a vet and even spent time in university. But luckily for us, she dropped out and set upon her life of entertaining us and gracing us with her beauty.
And this is clearly where her talent lies. After all, she is an Oscar-winning actress. She also earned for herself three Golden Globe Awards.
Family tragedy struck, however, in 2014 when Robert’s half sister Nancy Mote died of a drug overdose.
Julia Roberts, Multiple Career Woman
Roberts does not just work as an actress, she also has tried her hand at being a producer. Together with her actress sister Gillan and colleague Marisa Yeres Gill, they started the production company “Red Om Films”.
So far, she has produced part one of what will be four films based on the American Girl dolls. She also was executive producer for Queens Supreme in 2003.
She has also lent her voice to animated films like The Ant Bully, Charlotte’s Web, and Smurfs: The Lost Village.
Julia Roberts, the Altruist
This pretty woman is more than a pretty face. She also has a beautiful heart. A heart that burst with overwhelming emotion when she gave her time to UNICEF in 1995. She claims that the poverty she witnessed during her time in Haiti changed her irreversibly. She felt herself to be humbly educated.
In 2000, she gave her voice to a documentary about the neurodevelopment disorder “Rett Syndrome”. A few years later in 2006, she became the spokeswoman for Earth Biofuels, in order to promote renewable fuels.
In 2014 she gave her voice to a short film for Conservation International. She played Mother Nature and hoped to raise awareness about climate change. She also expresses her feminist views by being a vocal supporter of Gucci’s campaign “Chime for Change”.
It is not surprising she has such an interest in environmental issues. Of course, in 2000 she played Erin Brockovich.
Roberts spends a lot of time raising her children, who are very important to her. Motherhood is also a channel for her altruism. With husband Daniel Moder, she has 3 children. Twins, Phinnaeus and Hazel, and youngest son Henry.
