Surpassing Bill Gates, today Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world
According to the Bloomberg Report, Jeff Bezos topped the market today with Amazon sales and market shares. The Bloomberg Billionaire Index ranks daily the worlds richest individuals and their companies. Figures are updated every day at the close of trading in New York. Briefly, Jeff Bezos was ranked richest man in the world.
However, it didn’t last too long
As founder and largest shareholder of Amazon, Bezos continually wants to expand and reach new markets with new business ideas. Most all of them seem to be profitable. The growth for Amazon has been tremendous. Currently expanding to Austrailia and Japan, Bezos has no shortage of business sense.
Amazon is based out of Seattle and serves third party vendors. It also provides cloud computing services. These services aim to maximize the value of data stores. The goal is to meet the growing demand in the virtual and tech industry. Even though it only started as a retail book sale website, Amazon has grown from there.
Amazon will go even further
Bezos is fifty-three years old. Also, He feels passionate about aerospace endeavors. He launched an aerospace company, Blue Origin. Blue Origins focus is developing reusable rockets to carry passengers. Where the passengers wish to go is of little interest currently. He wishes to build space parks, hotels and communities to preserve the earth. Blue Origins began in Kent, Washington in 2000.
Notwithstanding, this Amazon retail blockbuster entrepreneur is successful enough to bypass Bill Gates. Although the momentary pass, Bezos is not single minded. Regardless of his passion for space travel, Bezos is practical.
As his involvement in his main Business declines, he will need other sources of income. That’s not to say he isn’t putting more than one-hundred percent into his retail market. With new ideas and expansions, his days at Amazon will be more than many.
Currently on the Bloomberg Index at 87.2billion, he just missed surpassing Mr. Gates on this closing day. But the market fluctuates more than public opinion. Even so, most people would agree 87.2 billion dollars is not laughable.
Bezos knows this too. In 2013 he purchased the Washington Post for 250 Million dollars. Now he can advertise Amazon to even the highest end buyers and sellers. Although, most people have already heard of Amazon. It has long since become a household name.
Furthermore, Jeff Bezos was raised by his mother and step father. He attended Princeton University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science. He was ranked one of fourteen of the most powerful people on the Forbes list in 2016. Also in 2016, he is at number two on Forbes 400 list.
